All penguins should have a look that they wear most of the time. It can be adapted at parties and celebrations, but it should be a distinctive look that people know you for. This guide will tell you how to make a cool look for you penguin. I will be happy to rate looks if you send me a comment containing a link to a picture of your look. Please note that the look used in diagrams below is not my actual look, but it is my second favourite look.
Beginning Your Look

To begin your look, you should choose one or two items that you really want to keep in your outfit. These items could be your favourite item, your rarest item or just an item you like. Don’t just wear an item because it’s your oldest. Wear it because it looks cool and you like it. If a new item comes out that you really like and you must take off your rarest item in order to wear it, just do it. It’s your penguin, so you can do what you like to it. If people judge you because you don’t wear rare clothes, just ignore them.
Adding More Items

Now you have your first few items, you need to add more. They should go well with your other items and contrast well with the colour of your base items. Don’t put an item on every layer just to show off your items. There’s no point having a brilliant look and ruining it by adding another layer that doesn’t go well with the other items.
Choosing Your Background and Pin

The background and the pin are very important to your look. Although you don’t have to have them, I do recommend having a background and a pin. Make sure the background doesn’t outstage your look. If the background is to colourful, it will make your penguin less noticable. Choose a simple background with light colours. Your pin could be your oldest pin as it helps you show how rare you are. However, the pin should be to do with the same subject of your background. For example, the UFO pin and the space background, the book pin and the bookshelf background, the cactus pin and the western sunset backgroud or the baseball with the baseball background.
Choosing a Colour

To complete your look, you should think very carefully about what colour to wear. The penguin’s skin colour should be a colour that is sparse in your look i.e. if you are wearing the blue floaties, the ice cream apron and the blue toque, don’t wear the blue colour. Try to use a colour that contrasts your items. Remember: red contrasts green, blue contrasts orange and purple contrasts yellow. You don’t have to use those colours. Other colour combinations look good too. For example, red and yellow look good together, as do black and pink.
